GETTING BETTER WITH AGE

recently played a round of golf with an amateur golfer
I who shot his age at the ripe vintage of 72. Sam Snead
did it during a PGA Tour event at 67, and the guy I was
playing with said he was aiming for the amateur record,
owned by Arthur Thomas, who did it at 103. As I reflected
on the growing importance of power and distance in the
game, accompanied by the lengthening of courses, I
thought it would be worthwhile to talk about how golfers
of all ages can radically improve despite the wear of time.
First, I think it’s important to acknowledge that
