un-Hee Ji wins the Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play,
Ewinning a place in the U.S. Women's Open next week.
In Las Vegas, on a "cold" and windy day in Shadow Creek,
Ji, winner of the U.S.Women 's Open 2009 in Saucon
Valley, she takes the last place in Pine Needles and the
6th victory on the LPGA Tour, her first since 2019. She
wins the final match against the Japanese Ayaka Furue
3 to 2.
"I am delighted to have won the tournament," said Ji.
"Then, in view of next week, this is the right way to arrive,
with this charge" The winner has played 7 matches in five
days, 4 of which in the last two. A tough test for a not
very young player (36 years old), who tells the cameras
that she is mentally and physically tired, but she still has
temperament and desire to win.
Ayaka Furue
Semifinalist Ayaka Furue, in search of her first victory on
the LPGA Tour, takes a really noteworthy second place.
