Europe Wins Solheim Cup, Beating Team USA

for the Third Consecutive Time

he European team secured victory at the Solheim Cup
Tfor the third consecutive time, with a score of 5 wins,
2 ties, and 5 losses in the singles match games held at Finca
Cortesin in Casares, Spain (par 72).
Although the European team had tied in points with the
United States in the preceding two days, resulting in an 8-8
score, they secured the victory following the rule that, in case
of a tie, the defending champions would retain the Solheim
Cup. This marks the first time a defending champion has
retained the Solheim Cup through a draw. Europe’s win also
narrowed the gap in the historical record to 8 wins and 10
losses against the United States.
